My apologies for this bad photo,

but it shows yesterday's view from a different angle.

Interaction

By looking at this photo, it's hard to tell , why this Gorilla is so stillfully facing this building. But, what he (or she) is so attentive to is a zookeeper who is making hand signals and awarding treats. There is only a gate between them. My guess is, the zookeeper is teaching sign language to the gorilla, and adding some stimulating activity to it's day.

Pink blossoms

The colors of spring are finally blooming.

Scratching....

... an itch.

The pink flamingos at the Sedgwick County Zoo, are brilliant this year.

This one was in process of scratching his head, or neck, as I snapped the shot.

Elephant shower

I know it's only 1 photo a day, but just have to work this in somewhere. It goes well with the Water theme day.

While at the Zoo, the little one said "Let's go in the building... can we?... can we?... please... please can we go in the building" And, so we did. I was delighted that we followed the toddlers coaxing - in time to see "How to wash an elephant!"

I hope you all enjoy it. Isn't that elephant well behaved? It looks like she loves getting her bath and shower. I'll post the end of bathtime - grand finale photo, tomorrow. It was almost like a trip to the Circus.

Watering the lawn

This is a common sight in Kansas during the summer months - watering the grass to keep it green and growing. Even though I didn't sign up for this months April 1st theme day of "Water", I'll post this contribution of a "wet photo". If you enlarge it, it will almost seem like you are going to get wet, which is another great thing about watering the lawn, kids love to run, jump and play in sprinklers like this one. Army helmet?

This shell reminds me of an oversized army helmet. It also looks like it's been recently shined with "Turtle Wax". (anyone remember that brand of car wax?)

These two were part of the Keystone Kops segment of the Parade, they were clowning around in their prison striped uniforms.

This photo reminds me of the saying of

Got Milk?

This is an old Milk Delivery vehicle - all dressed up for the St Patrick's Day parade.

Police car

Most Wichita Police Officers ride in cars like this one, not on horseback or bicycle.

Horsepowered

At some Wichita events with large crowds, police ride horses and/or bicycles. They are easier to navigate through groups of people and roadless areas. This photo was taken at the parade.

Kansas Palm Trees

A colorful sting of electrical Palm trees, can be seen at night along the Kellogg West entrance ramp, from West street. I wonder what the story is behind them - did the city install these trees, or did a company put them in? Well, on the rainy night that this picture was taken, I sure enjoyed seeing them. They came as a complete surprise.

Office Max

Remember the time when "the customer is always right"?

I think those days are gone.

But when my camera broke, Office Max replaced it with a similar model.

They would of replaced it with the same, but the model I had was no longer available.

It did help, that I had purchased the extended warranty.
