Young Weeping Willow

I guess if I was a tree, this is the kind I would be, as there has been a fair amount of weeping in my life. Although, I have the strength of a mighty Oak. What kind of tree would you be?

Water, water, everywhere

Flat area water fountains, like this one, are found in various parts of Wichita, and other towns and cities. They provide cool, free, fun, for the kids who enjoy playing in them, and time out for their busy parents to sit and relax (in the hot sun!).

Fuzzy fox tails

I don't know if it's the official name for this plant, but I call it Fox Tail.
It makes for a nice landscaping trim.

Puzzling landscape

I like this photo, it makes me think of a couple of puzzle pieces that almost fit together, leaving only a little sky between. Do you see it that way?

What fun

What fun to balance and walk on the edge of the path, instead of on the path.
See the mothers hand extended to catch him if he falls.

Exercising

This little guy is demonstrating (or trying to) how this bicycling apparatus works. Put your feet on the pedals, and your hands on the handle bars, and round and round they go. He needs to grow a bit, to fully master this piece of playground equipment. Maybe it's more for Mom's and Dad's who are bring their chidren to the park. This photo was taken at Riverside Park, in Wichita, Ks.

Touching water

There's just something about a refreshing pool of water, on a hot sunny day,
that makes a person want jump in and swim, or at very least - to touch it with a finger or a toe.

Creek crossing

What a fun way for children to cross a creek, and when dismounted on the other side, they run back around to do it again. But, first they have to pull the rope to bring the pulley and seat back to the platform, where they can get back on and zoom over the creek again. The creek was tiny, not dangerous, in the case of someone falling off, even though the kids held on tight. This photo was also taken at Eberly Farm in Wichita, Ks. It's a great place for family fun. They had lots to do, including a farm animal petting area, swimming pool, fishing, barrel ride, and more.

Eberly Farm is a nice place for company picnics, weddings, and other special events: to visit their site and see more, click here: EberlyFarm

Barefoot

What fun - standing barefoot in cool mud, on a hot summer day.
