Woman and child

Another statue in downtown Wichita - this is a woman with one arm around a child, and the other one pointing as if she's saying "look!" I took the shot from behind in hopes of seeing what she was pointing at. Not sure if it's something about the building across the street, or if there's another piece of public art perched on the traffic pole above them. One of the traffic poles does have a duck perched (bolted down) on it. Some of the small pieces are in such cute and unsuspecting places. It's not uncommon to see real people pointing and saying "Look, there's another one!"

This is beautiful! It has so much feeling in it, wondering just what they are look at, what the mother could be saying to the child...so many things!

Great shot, I think it worked to shoot it from behind as it shows us the whole scene :o)

The building in the background looks interesting too.

I agree with Jayne that the building looks interesting.

Every time I come to your blog I think "this is my favorite one"! Then the next day I say it again. I guess I just love them all! Wish I could see them in person.

You are giving us such a unique introduction to Wichita. Who knew your "cow town" was so rich in public art? Not me, till you showed it in your blog.

Wendy, these statues are so fascinating. Whoever encouraged such wonderful art displays was a great asset to your city!
