Boy and bird

When I look at this boy and bird, I think of Abe and his beautiful bird photos. Have any of you ever had a bird perch on your finger?

I have not had one on my finger but one on my head. Not often does it happen. I think they are secretly afraid. But the head might have been more of a bump than a perch.

This is a beautiful sculpture and all the details are revealed in your photograph of it. Nice shot.

I have a new love for statues since becoming a blogger, and seeing many different ones on posts, now I go looking for them when I'm out and about with my camera. Love this one.

Nope, no bird's been on my finger. One may have left something on my head a time or two.

Wow, is there a proliferation of these representational bronze statutes in your area, too? I must go out and take some photos of the ones around here.

They are not my particular cup of tea, but very popular. I do like the subject of this one.

I think one would have to sit very still for many many days near the birds with seeds in the palm of ones outstreched hands . . . and it's just too hot for me to give it a try. But I think it would be a worthwhile effort if I lived in cooler climes.

When i was a kid, we once nursed an eagle with an injured wing back to health, he wouldn't leave for the longest time, just sat in one of our trees and watched us come and go, (and also waited for crackers which we fed him, we named him Jeffrey)...but he always kept his distance. One day he flew away...we wished him well, but we were sad to see him go...
