Humboldt Penguin
Wichita is home to the Nationally renowned Sedgwick County Zoo. It's the 18th largest in the US and is Kansas's most popular tourist attraction. This year a Penguin exhibit was opened. Here's a picture of one that swam right up to the glass, observing me, as I was observing him. Humboldt Penguins come from South America's rocky coastal waters of Chile and Peru. They are named after the Humboldt current that runs up the west coast of South America from Antarctica. I hope they do well in their new Kansas home.

These underwater (sort of} shots produce the most interesting green. I hope your little penguin lives a happy life there in hot Wichita.
Pretty good photo through the thick glass. You will have fun observing the new exhibit. Fascinating creatures.
oh nice one, i just posted something like this yesterday (a sea lion through the underwater viewing gallery--come see!) It's fun when they come up close and give you a good view...
I haven't gotten to come and visit the penguins yet, but am looking forward to it!
