Catching frogs

This statue is seen by the fish pond at the Sedgwick County Zoo entrance. Before joining CDPB, I didn't realize Wichita had so many nice works of public art. This one brings to mind days gone by, when going barefoot and catching frogs, was fun. I remember catching crawdads, tarantulas, frogs, lightening bugs, june bugs, roly polys, and butterflies. What did you catch?

Frogs, butterflies, fish and sometimes birds. Fortunately we have no tarantula's. Very nice statue.

I love the statues you find. This one is truly as Kate says, whimisical....! I caught mostly frogs and tadpoles.

Wendy, it's fun, isn't it, to find out about your city, to see it with your new camera eyes. And it's wonderful to be introduced to another city. I think this blogging thing is great armchair traveling.

I mostly used to catch crawdads when I was a kid and when I became a teenager it was boys I tried to catch. Wild creatures, both.

I caught Hell when I came back home muddy and drenched. Some hogwash about "you could have drowned."
