Troll

This photo was taken, by the river, not far from the Keeper of the Plains Plaza. From my understanding, this grate along the bike/walking path was over an unsightly drainage area that would of been costly to clean up and renovate. Instead, the city came up with an idea to add character to it, for a fraction of the cost. Those who look closely beneath this drainage grate, will find -- a Troll. It's a great addition to the area, giving something for young and old, to know about, look for, and find. October and halloween, seems like a good month to post this somewhat creepy, yet fun, and whimsical character.

I agree Moi, Wichita has some powers that be, doing nice things to make Wichita an aesthetic city.

Annie, I have seen all of the public art before blogging, but it was always just "one statue at a time" and didn't allow me to see what a gift the collection is to Wichitans. It all looks different when seen through the camera, and collected, and shared.

Wanda, I like the imaginative troll, too. We've heard about them in children's stories so many times, but how many chances do we get to actually find one!?
