Warming up
Besides the chiminea's at Botanica, there were also some gas fueled (I have no idea what they are called) warming posts. They have flames in the upper portion and the heat is deflected in a downward direction by the umbrella style topper. This is something I've not experienced before, and I was impressed with how much warmth they provide. And, if that wasn't enough to warm up the Botanica guests - there was also hot cocoa, and hot apple cider for $1. Whoever put this together - did a nice job in considering the welcome relief of warmth in the midst of a cold winter stroll through the illuminated gardens.

I can feel the heat!
I like the tall heaters, they dont have the smoke smell with them. However, the chimineas are good for people to throw their butts in.
Someone told me today that when he was a boy his mother would bake potatoes in the morning before he had to walk to school. He'd have one in each pocket to keep his hands warm on the walk - and the bonus was he could eat them at lunch. But this heated canopy is probably even better for warmth on a cold day.

Been busy here with winter viruses and Christmas shopping ( I hate shopping, I'm such a Scrooge hehe).

They are called patio heaters or outdoor heaters. That's very thoughtful of them.
Isn't it nice to be able to enjoy such a beautiful place and have it all the nicer because they paid attention to the details, and made it really special.

YES! They are all over on any outside (in the air) bars here in HOLLAND and in France too, its really hot, good enough to drink outside your coffee or chocolate or Bouillon, whatever you like to drink or eat, with you COAT ON, of course!!!
