Army helmet?

This shell reminds me of an oversized army helmet. It also looks like it's been recently shined with "Turtle Wax". (anyone remember that brand of car wax?)

I remember using turtle wax on the outside, son of a gun on the inside on my moms 77 Thunderbird. Looks like the turtle is sticking his neck out for you.
