Stove on the range

The chuckwagon in yesterday's photo was to the right of this scene. Here, the cook is stoking the campfire, to get it good and hot.

Chuckwagons are the best, and this is a great photo of the "cook." So, you rooting the Jayhawks tomorrow? I have adopted them as my team. But maybe you are a Kansas State fan?

That fire is blazing, should burn down just a little bit before the cast iron stew pot is placed there. Don't you know the cook was either the most loved or most hated guy in the camp, depending upon what came out of that cast iron pot?

He better be extra carefuland have his water bucket near by, that grass looks awful dry and there appears to be a bit of a wind (like when isn't there in Kansas?).

Love that chuck wagon and cooking fire!
Thanks for visiting my blog. I used picasa to make the cotton picture. It's a free downloadable photo management program.

I'll bet there are some good eats from that campfire. Nice shot.

The cook is either "packing" a gun or...a cellphone ;-)

Is that armadillo stew I smell? Something good should be bubbling in a big 'ole pot by now! I love the smell of an outdoor fire like that. I t is so cool to see a sample of the old ways.
Thanks Wendy,
Wayne
