Kansas, like everywhere, has had its own destruction requiring the efforts of heros and this tribute to them is surely well deserved.

It is a very attractive statue - looks to be outdoors yet it is set off nicely in a protected spot. We just got through talking about thanksgiving - well, this is a community expression of thanks.

I read your post yesterday and this one today and remembered that I also saw on television, the other day, a lady from Kansas who started a website selling tumbleweed. Yes, and she has orders from all over the world for it. She sells it in three sizes, small, medium and large.

Did you know about her?

I love fire museums. I guess it's the little boy in me. But fighting fires sometimes means heavy sacrifices.

Wow, thanks for sharing this. Hats off to these guys. Can you imagine actually walking into a burning building? They deserve all of our respect and support.

What a moving memorial that is. I mean, it really hit me when I saw his face. Yeah, very touching, and tragic!
Thanks,

Thank you for taking time to take these photos and then to put them on your blog. Each of us needs to remember to be thankful for men and women willing to do jobs like this one and others filled with danger.
