Narrow building
This building has always caught my attention, because of it's pretty color, and odd shape. See how narrow it is on the left side? The other side is wider. There are railroad tracks directly behind the building. I'm guessing (and only guessing) the tracks were there first! I often wonder what the original purpose of this building was, and what other businesses have used it. It's located at Broadway and 21st. From the signs in the windows, it looks like it's up for sale.

Wendy, shall we buy it and open a Boutique? I like the looks of that building...kinda odd shaped like me! :)
I love buildings like this.
It looks very neat. Glad that its still standing.
Wendy,
Nice find. I like this sort of odd, eye catching buildings that seem to be scattered around towns. Certainly at some point his was someone's dream and ambition. I too often wonder about the history of places like this.

It's called the Flatiron building (after the one in NY). I thought there was a write up on it a couple of years ago in the paper, but I'm not having any luck finding it yet.

It appears to have been a club or bar in 1981.
Hi Wendy,
Indeed I agree its a great building with wonderfull colours, your photography shows this very well! It looks like the sun is still shining there? Is it shining nowadays too?
I showed today a slideshow with photo's and music from, "the left behind and lost things" on the streets, right the opposite of rich Christmas, everybody seemed to have money enough these days... Just look and see if you like it, Bye see you and enjoy yourself:)
Before this post I showed also a DUTCH Sunset and a moonrise in 1 post, you might like it... See you!
cool! there's a building very near here that is almost exactly like this one (and for the same reason too!)
It always amazes me how they can build buildings in the narrowest of spaces. Nice pic.
