Close up

I've been familiar with this bridge for years - driving past it (over it) many times. But, because of this blog - and seeing the bridge through the lense of my camera - I'm appreciating the workmanship and artistry of it, more than ever.

"Carthalite incorporates particles of sand, crushed rock and/or crushed glass into cement with mineral pigments." taken from this linked article.....

It's inspiring when a town has taken the time to decorate the public areas like this. It's such a beauiful bridge, and would help one to appreciate being alive, each time you cross it.

Is the animal figure a buffalo?

The detail on this bridge is so amazing. Most bridges don't have all the color either. Thanks for sharing it with us.

That's a really neat bridge. It's nice that they thought enough to make the bridge more than just a structure to get cars from one side to the other.

Do you know who designed the bridge? This is a fascinating tour of it :).
