Tripodal

Tripodal Artist: James Rosati (1912-1988)
Created: 1970-72 Media: Cor-ten steel
This sculpture is located at Century II Convention Center and can be seen from Douglas Street.
I enjoy looking at the the round convention center with the blue roof, more than the abstract sculpture. This photo is best viewed by clicking to enlarge.

I really like 'urban' or community art in public places like this. I think the sculptor has quite a challenge in figuring out how to use the space well and also accomodate things like the traffic lights and street lights.

hmmmm.... I wonder what happened to my post? I remember when the tripodal went in, there was quite a controversy. People either loved it or hated it.
